This tool returns very detailed “whois” data for the owner of any domain name.
Aside from the basic registrant data, results include: site traffic data from Alexa, the number of listings in the Open Directory Project, and Google and Yahoo Ranking data. Also included is a recent thumbnail image of the site, if available.
This is How it Works
Domain names go through 5 phases in their life span. This tool searches and returns results for the highlighted rows:
| Stage | Duration | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Available | - | Available domains can be registered at any time. |
| Active | 1-10 Years | Active domains are domains that have been registered and paid for the duration of the registration. |
| Expired | 0-40 Days | After an expired date is reached, the website will cease to function for around 40 days. During this period, the original domain owner has the option to renew the domain with no fees. |
| Redemption (On Hold) Period | 30 Days | After the Expired period, a domain goes into a second stage called the redemption (or On Hold) period. For 30 days, the original domain owner still has the option to renew the domain, but must also pay a $89 fine. |
| Delete | 5 Days | After the redemption period ends, the domain is deleted from the registry and is released to the public as “Available”. |
